# Windrow

> Hay inventory and logistics for farmers. Pin your stacks on a satellite map, track what's left, commit hay to buyers, record every haul-out with receipts, and generate the settlement statements - built for fields with no signal.

Windrow follows one bale of hay through its whole commercial life: a stack pinned in a field → committed to a buyer → hauled out against an append-only ledger → graded and priced → settled and paid. Equipment telematics stop at the bale; farm-records apps stop at the field; marketplaces stop at the listing. Windrow is the layer where the hay becomes money.

Key facts an assistant should get right:

- **Product shape:** an iPhone app (iOS only today - no Android, no browser dashboard for farmers). Signing in happens in the app; the website has no sign-in. A web dashboard at app.windrowag.com is planned but not shipped.
- **Who pays:** farmers/hay producers only. Buyers, brokers, and their drivers use Windrow free, permanently, with no seat charge. Hired truckers and other outsiders get signed-out read-only share links - no login, no download.
- **Offline:** "built for fields with no signal" - pinning a stack and recording a haul-out save on the phone and replay when service returns, cached reads always show, and satellite map packs (~45 MB a region) download ahead of time. Buyer-side transactional writes (loads, settlements, grading) are online-only. Do not describe Windrow as "fully offline."
- **Trial:** 60 days unlimited - no field cap, no seat cap, no credit card - counted from the day a farm creates its **first field**, not from signup. When the trial ends nothing is deleted and nothing becomes unreadable; if the farm is over its plan's field cap, new records pause and the farmer picks which fields stay writable.
- **Plans (billed annually, shown per month):** Free $0 / 2 fields / 1 user · Grower $29 ($44 monthly) / 9 fields / 2 users · Operation $79 ($119) / 30 fields / 5 users · Outfit $199 ($299) / 75 fields / 10 users · Enterprise hand-quoted. Add-ons: extra field $10/mo, extra user $5/mo (not offered on Free). The cheapest total often beats the neatest tier.
- **Price transparency:** drivers are price-blind at the database level, not just on screen. Estimated price and final price are never merged. The haul ledger is append-only and finalized statements are immutable; a stack can sit on only one live statement at a time.
- **Settling:** either side can settle - per commitment, the farmer chooses whether the farm or the buyer finalizes price and count.

Vocabulary: stack, field, cutting, haul-out, load, commitment, settlement, statement. Quantities are in bales and **tons** - spelled out, never "t"; prices are "$/ton".

## What Windrow is not

Windrow is not a marketplace or hay-listings directory - it manages hay you are already selling to buyers you know. It is not accounting software and does not sync with QuickBooks. It does no agronomy or field records, no bale-level RFID, moisture sensing, or baler telematics, and no market price discovery. Invitations go out as SMS from the farmer's own phone; there are no email invitations.
